What will you do if something doesn’t go according-to-plan this Thanksgiving? What if you encounter some kind of uncertainty on Thursday or over the holiday weekend? (I pray you don’t!)

Take this advice from author Pema Chodron if you find yourself stressed that the turkey isn’t going to be ready on time, or if a relative says something that triggers you:

1. Be fully present.
2. Feel your heart. (literally)
3. Engage the next moment without an agenda.

What Pema’s trying to teach us is to check in with ourselves before we react. She wants us to live fully in the moment, to be present as we hear those stories from relatives, and not be in our heads deciding our response before they are even done talking.

Let’s just…be.

Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving that is uncertainty-free!
