If you’ve been keeping up with my blog series, you know that I started a new meditation series this week, Manifesting True Success. Each day’s mantra and centering thought has spoken to me deeply. The practice of meditation is such a beautiful one, and when I really commit to doing these series, my body and mind benefit greatly.
This inspired me to look up some quotes about meditating. I was so moved by these that I felt like they touched my soul, and therefore, I felt compelled to share them.
- “Without meditation, and without a relationship to your mind, you fail to use the power of the mind. You fail to rely on your self. You complicate your approach. You do not use the beautiful designs given to you by birthright in this body, that link the effectiveness of body, mind, soul and you.” – Yogi Bhajan
- “Meditation practice isn’t about trying to throw ourselves away and become something better, it’s about befriending who we are.” Ani Pema Chodron
- “If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything; it is open to everything. In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, in the expert’s mind there are few.” – Shunryu Suzuki
I didn’t start meditating because I wasn’t happy with myself. I started because I wanted to better know myself, and that happened on more levels than I ever expected. It’s now a daily practice for me, even when I’m not doing a specific meditation series.
